HR/Operations Administrative Assistant

Job Summary

Midwest Fastener is looking for an Administrative Assistant to support the operations and human resource departments. The administrative assistant will provide support to Operations primarily focused as an information liaison: scheduling business events, composing data, generating memos and emails, etc. The administrative assistant will provide support to the Human Resources Department in areas such as benefits administration, new hire training, maintaining personnel files, and maintaining the security badge system.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide clerical and administrative support to the VP of Operations, Sr. Human Resource Manager, and the Operations Management team.
  • Submits employee data reports by assembling, preparing, and analyzing data.
  • Maintains employee information by entering and updating employment and status-change data
  • Provides support by entering, formatting, and printing information
  • Maintains employee confidence and protects operations by keeping human resource information confidential
  • Maintains quality service by following organization standards
  • Creating and distributing documents
  • Assist with day-to-day operations of the Operations/HR functions and duties
  • Compiles and updates employee records (hard and soft copies)
  • Maintains data systems by updating and entering data
  • Sets appointments and arranges meetings
  • Screen resumes and conduct candidate phone screenings
  • Schedule, coordinate, and track applicants and interviews
  • Conduct New Employee Orientation
  • Provides courteous, professional assistance to others by email, phone, and in person.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required. Associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 1-2 years in administrative experience
  • Strong office skills and knowledge including Microsoft Office Suite (365) is required.
  • Must demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness with great attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills, written and oral
  • Ability to work independently or as a team and efficiently
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and leadership qualities with the ability to handle multiple tasks and set priorities

Where: Kalamazoo Location
Hours: 8:00-4:30
